Materials of a higher star level than it will level it up faster. To level up your sprite, all you have to do is feed it a random material. Still possible to gain perks, but it will eventually no longer be able to eat anything. Level 100: Consume the final Ultimate Evo Catalyst to learn it's final Ultimate skill and change it's appearence for the last time. Level 95-99: Consumes another Ultimate Evo Catalyst to learn it's second Ultimate Skill and change another part of its appearance. Will change a small part of its appearance. Level 90-94: Can consume one Ultimate Evo Catalyst for it's first ultimate skill. Level 51-89: Gets more skill points and perks. Level 50: Evolve into it's Tier 3 form and gains its third skill. Level 16-49: Earn skills points and random perks. Level 15: Evolve into it's Tier 2 form and gain it's second skill. Your sprite can and will evolve at certain levels.
